Aluminium overall has less impact on the environment than alternatives
Aluminium is a fully recyclable product
It may be considered one of the best, because to recycle Aluminium you save 95% of the original energy used making it from Bauxite
Recycled Alloys of Aluminium have exactly the same properties as original Alloys
Aluminium Alloy extrusions show no differences between Original and Recycled.
In most cases finishing of extrusions show no differences
Painted Aluminium can be recycled at a slightly higher cost, but still with a significant saving
Not only is there an energy saving on recycled Aluminium but for every tonne recycled that’s one tonne not produced with the high energy usage.
There is no limit to the number of times Aluminium can be recycled
Can Governments do more to encourage recycling of Aluminium by individuals? This is not the forum to discuss how this should be done, suffice it to say that in opinion it should be done, it is certainly a lot more productive and helpful to the environment than the some of other things we are encouraged to recycle.
Companies who have Aluminium on site, but are not necessarily trading or manufacturing in it, should be made to separate Aluminium from there normal waste.
Companies who use Aluminium as part of there production will already be recycling (scrap, damaged & waste Aluminium has a value)
ASK YOURSELF IF IT IS THAT GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT WHY WE DON’T USE MORE
